What I Do
& How

01

MASTERING

Requirements

Your mix should be sent with at least 1dB of headroom (peaks at -1dBTP), no limiter on your master.
File should ideally be stereo 32bit (non-dithered) 48kHz (or higher) max length 15 minutes (if longer this will lead to a separate specific contract). If this is not possible please send at least 24bits 44.1kHZ (or higher).
File name needs to contain exact information : "Artist name - Track Name (mix version)"
I also need to know the format for which the master is needed: streaming platforms only, digital release and/or vinyl press. If different versions are needed, I’ll first work on the digital release. An additional vinyl cut will cost 15€ and additional streaming version will cost 5€.

Artistic approach :

Please write me a few lines about how you feel about your own track, what you want to express, what is the context behind it or what was your mindset while writing it.
Send me 3 example tracks with a little line about what you really like about it (sonic wise, not musically of course) to help me see the direction you expect from my mastering

Your expectations from my work:

Here’s a list of terms for you to pick up to help me feel the direction you are hoping i’ll give to your work
Thin, thick, large, narrowed, heavy, light, deep, airy, profound, condensed, dynamic, punchy, flat, clean, digital, analog, edgy, sharp

Process:

I’ll first read your explanations, listen to your sound examples and compare to the mix received. From there I'll write you a few lines back to explain what differences I hear and the direction I intend to take to achieve the expected results, and if needed explanations of things to fix in the mix before I start working on it. If this makes all sense to you i’ll start working on your track(s). I’ll send you first a 30sec example to validate you agree with the direction taken. If not, we have room here to discuss and to adapt things to your taste. Once agreed on this sample result you’ll be able to proceed to the payment in order to receive the full length version of your mastered track.

Schedule:

After the reception of all content needed you’ll receive a first feedback within 5 working days (usually less than 3days). This feedback will briefly explain what i hear and the direction i would like to take for the mastering phase. Once agreed on the steps, the final master will be delivered in less than 5 working days (usually within 48 hours)
Express service within 24hours is possible at : 25% extra cost
In case the submitted mix does not allow to reach the requested standards via the mastering stage, an extended “mix feedback” with clear guidelines of what should be done can be provided at 30€ charge and no mastering will take place before the mix has been addressed in order to always be able to provide high quality musical outputs after the mastering stage.

Storage:

After your project is completed, the material you’ve sent to us will be deleted from our systems 10 days after.
I offer lifetime backup services if asked: 15€ for the mastering project (containing one or several tracks) and 5€ per mastered audio file (.aiff 24 bits 44.1kHz)

Price

50€ per mastered track. 3 corrections/adjustments included
200€ per 5 tracks

300€ for 8 tracks or more (for a similar project like an album)

Additional edits : 15€ per rework
These prices are for one single type of master meant for digital stores.
If extra version is required for streaming platforms : 5€ per track

If additional version is required to press vinyl : 15€ per track
I’m always open to discussion if you have some specific needs or a unique project that doesn’t fit into the description above

02

Mixing

Requirements

I need to receive stems in proper audio format 24bit 48kHz max length 15 minutes (if longer this will lead to a separate specific contract)
These should contain no clips, no double files. If so an additional fee will be charged depending on the exact extra amount of work/loss of time this will cause

Thin, thick, large, narrowed, heavy, light, deep, airy, profound, condensed, dynamic, punchy, flat, clean, digital, analog, edgy, sharp

Process:

I’ll first read your explanations, listen to your sound examples and load the stems into a project, all channels at unity gain. From there I'll write you a few lines back to explain what differences I hear and the direction I intend to take to achieve the expected results, and if needed explanations of things to bounce otherwise (example remove reverb from a stem, having two tracks being bounced together as one stem, …)  Once all proper audio files are received I’ll start working on it. I’ll send you first a 30sec example to validate you agree with the direction taken. If not, we have room here to discuss and to adapt things to your taste. 03

COMPOSITION - ARRANGEMENT - PRODUCTION SUPPORT

These are pretty personal projects and require more discussions on your needs, your expectations, your project timeline (and your deadlines).
I offer all kinds of services : fine tuning your arrangement, doing sound design in order to achieve more unique sounds in your productions, harmonic bridges, toplines writing (you know that catchy theme that stays in your head),...
For all these specific demands we need to set up a proper call beforehand in order to define exactly where you are and where you want to go.
BUT as a general matter of fact here are some mandatory things and average work conditions below.
• Send me at least 3 of your tracks that are works in progress so I understand your universe and have a better understanding of what you are making and what will be needed to reach the next mile.

• Send me at least 6 reference tracks of artists you love and join a text file explaining what you specifically enjoy in each of them. Example the drums programming, the mood (harmony/color) the type of sounds (real instruments, synths,.. all these sound design matters), the clarity of the arrangement, the buildups,...

• In order to work efficiently we’ll need to be either together in the studio or to set up zoom calls to discuss things while working live. Audio will be streamed in HD via audiomovers platform

• Financial aspect : while i’m always open to discuss things the generic formula here is 40€ per hour of work and 15% on the royalties (i’ll need to be encoded as being co-writer of your music by 15% of the work at SABAM or any other author’s rights company). This is obviously only for the artistic input (writing, arranging,...). Mixing and or mastering will be done according to the conditions above.

Brice Deloose is an extremely talented sound engineer with a deep understanding of music in many genres. As a creative music producer himself, he is great at understanding the emotional aspects of the song and translating the artist intentions into his craft. He will also revise his work whenever requested which is always appreciated. I highly recommend him!
